Barbara Ann Proffitt, 40, of Gillis Road, died July 20, 1998, in Chesapeake.
She was a native of Portsmouth and was employed as an air conditioning and refrigeration mechanic for Norfolk Naval Shipyard.
Survivors include her mother, Barbara West Proffitt; and a brother, William A. Proffitt, both of Portsmouth.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Cradock Baptist Church by Dr. David R. Denny. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel.
She will always be a Loving Memory in our hearts.
