Diana Lynn Goodrich McCants, 45, of Nina Drive, died Friday, March 2, 2001. She was a devoted wife, mother and community volunteer serving on the board of the Western Branch Athletic Club, Chittum Elementary School PTA and was a Room Mother. Diana was previously employed at Maryview and Portsmouth Naval Hospital.

Diana is survived by her husband, William ''Chip'' McCants; son, Wesley Lance McCants; mother, Barbara G. Schell and husband, Charles A. Schell, of Chesapeake; father, Wesley L. Goodrich and wife, Patricia, and daughter, Lee Ellen, all of Portsmouth; three sisters, Pat Goodrich Kaplan and husband, Joel, of Portland, Ore., Sharon G. Donaldson of Portsmouth and Leslie Faye Moseberth and husband, Linnie, of Chesapeake; five nieces and one nephew. Her infant daughter, Jennifer Lynn, predeceased her.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Believers Baptist Church by the Rev. G. Scott Ranck with burial in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Western Branch Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 9105, Chesapeake, VA 23321. The family will receive friends in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.
