Ronald Nathan Wertz
Class of 1970
 


PORTSMOUTH - Ronald Nathan Wertz, 57, was ushered into the presence of the lord Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at his home in Randallstown, Md. Ronald Wertz was born Jan. 19, 1952, in Portsmouth to George and Marie Wertz. Ronald is survived by his wife, Corrine Wertz and son, Daryl Wertz. Ronald is also survived by his four sisters, Evelyn Wertz, Sarah Parker, Iona Wertz, Audrey Wertz; three brothers, George Wertz Jr., Johnny Wertz and Recardo Evans. Ronald had a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Ronald graduated from Cradock High School in Portsmouth in 1970 and Kentucky State University in 1974. He was a career federal employee and worked at several Department of Defense agencies (DOD). In addition, he worked at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, National Archives and Records Administration, and most recently, the United States Department of the Interior. Ronald was a longstanding member, past president, and past vice president of the National Property Management Association, Harbor Lights Division. He was also a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. Throughout his distinguished career, he received numerous awards and recognition. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 2714 Frederick Blvd., Portsmouth. Ronald was highly regarded as an exceptional man, and will be missed dearly by all of his loved ones. Services arranged by Chatman/E.A. Hughes Funeral Home. www. eahughes.biz.
