David L. Ripley, 40, formerly of Portsmouth, died March 23, 1993, in New York City.

He is survived by his parents, George and Mary Ripley of Portsmouth; three sisters, Sharon McDonald of Vallejo, Calif., Donna Saveika of Kitty Hawk, N.C., and Betty Bond of Chesapeake; five nieces; and three nephews.

Final rites will be held in New York.
