Jack W. Templeton, Sr., 60, of Portsmouth, VA, passed away October 3, 2006, in Maryview Hospital.
A native of Statesville, NC, he was the son of Juanita Templeton Everhart and the late Clarence Templeton. He was a retired truck driver. He was a past member of Asbury United Methodist Church and belonged to the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #898. Jack graduated from Cradock High School in 1965 where he was a star fullback for Cradock High School football team.
He is survived by his mother, Juanita Everhart of Portsmouth, VA; a son, Jack W. Templeton, Jr. of Chesapeake, VA; a daughter, Amanda A. Piper and her husband Aaron of Sunbury, NC; three grandchildren, Jarron, Nikki and Allison; and a great-granddaughter, Autumn. He is also survived by sisters, Edith Templeton Greene of Virginia Beach, VA and Elaine LaLonde and her husband Jim of Statesville, NC; a brother, Lewis Franklin Templeton and his wife Jean of Suffolk, VA; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his step-father, Billy Lee Everhart.
He was a loving father, son and brother who will be missed. We Love you.
A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel. The burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
