Margaret Jeanette Gartley, 52, died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999. Born in Lynchburg, she had been a lifelong Portsmouth resident until moving to Hampton last year.

Miss Gartley is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Harold Mayberry of Hampton, and Mary and Jessy Sykes of Suffolk; four nieces and nephews, Tonya Mayberry, Ben Mayberry and Brian Mayberry of Hampton, and Michelle Reynolds of Suffolk. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Jeanette Gartley.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald Monk. The interment will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Park, Suffolk, at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
