John Francis Galuska III, 52, of the 400 block of Mohican Drive, died Feb. 18, 2000.
Mr. Galuska, a native of Newton, Iowa, retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard, submarine testing, after 32 years, and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an avid bowler and fisherman.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 25 years, Jeanette Howe Galuska; a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn B. and Jimmy Griggs of Zuni; a sister and brother-in-law, Suzann G. and Ed White of Chesapeake; a brother, Fred J. Galuska of Portsmouth; mother-in-law, Bertha Howe Jamison of Portsmouth; a nephew, Brian L. Swain, and niece, Rhonda Cox; a grand-niece and a grand-nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Steve Bingham. Mr. Galuska will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
