Suffolk – Joseph Wesley Spivey, 41, of the 5100 block of Dominion Drive, a surveyor, died Feb. 3, 1987, in York County.

Mr. Spivey, a Portsmouth native, retired from the Virginia Department of Highways. He was a member of the Ruritans and Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Spivey; two sons, Richard S. Spivey and Joseph P. Spivey; and his parents, Mary Ann S and Cecil A. Spivey, all of Suffolk; and a brother, David A. Spivey of Woodbridge.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Ebenezer United Methodist Church by the Rev. John Andrews. Memorial donations may be made to Hope Haven Children’s Home. Loving Funeral Home, Portsmouth, is handling arrangements.
