Chesapeake - Dana Gray Fowlkes, 42, of the 3400 block of Martin Johnson Road, a carpenter, died Oct. 1, 1987, in his home. Mr. Fowlkes was a native of Portsmouth.

Survivors include a daughter, Briget Dacia Fowlkes of Fort Myers, Fla.; his mother, Evelyn Gray Fowlkes of Chesapeake; and a brother, Brian D. Fowlkes of Pittsburgh, Pa.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday in Twiford's Colonial Chapel by the Rev. Henry V. Napier. Burial will be private. Twiford's Colonial Chapel is handling arrangements. The family will assemble in his residence.

Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital.
