Phyllis W. Eanes, 59, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully Aug. 26, 2004, with her family by her side.

Phil was born in Wise County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Charles White Jr. She was an honor graduate of Cradock High School and Louise Obici Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as an LPN at Riverside Convalescent Home in Smithfield for 14 years. She also worked as a teachers aide with the Isle of Wight school system for a number of years. Phil was a member of Windsor Baptist Church and was also a member of the Eastern Star. She was better known as "Mamaw." Her favorite pastimes were to shop for her grandchildren and travel with her family.Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Otis T. Eanes; two daughters, Becky Simpson and husband Jimmy of Suffolk and Debbie Eanes-Tail and husband Ambrose Tail of Portsmouth; a son, Thomas Alan Eanes and wife Anna of Windsor; her mother, Elizabeth White of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Kayla Eanes and Sean Eanes; two sisters, Mary Jane May and husband Charles of Ransom, Ky., and Eileen Temple and husband Clay of Virginia Beach; a brother, Charlie White and wife Joy of Chesapeake; and numerous aunts, uncles and friends.

The family will receive friends at Parr Funeral Home today from 7 to 8 p.m. and other times at the residence. A graveside service will be Monday at 11 a.m. in Windsor Cemetery, officiated by the Rev.
