Peter Thomas Wiggins, 54, a resident of Portsmouth, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 14, 1999.

Born in Newport News, he was the son of the late Albert T. and Mary Jane Hargrave Wiggins. He was a Vietnam veteran, a member of The Alliance Church in Portsmouth, a longtime volunteer with the Suicide Crisis Center and was part of the Tidewater Emmaus community. He was employed as a warehouseman with F.I.S.C. Norfolk Naval Shipyard Annex.Mr. Wiggins is survived by his wife of nearly 19 years, Brenda Radford Wiggins; a sister, Dana Wiggins of Chesapeake; sisters-in-law, Sandra R. Diggs and Judy R. Tyson, both of Portsmouth; nieces, Leigh Ann Diggs of Nags Head, N.C. and Tracy Fletcher of Portsmouth; a great-nephew, Travis Fletcher of Portsmouth; and several cousins on the Peninsula.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today at The Alliance Church, 5809 Portsmouth Blvd., with Dr. Charles Peterson and Dr. Norman March officiating. The committal service, with military honors, will be at 3 p.m. today in Wakefield Cemetery, Wakefield. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is handling arrangements.
