Lynne Watson Smallen died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999, at Maryview Medical Center.

She was a retired LPN, a member of Cradock Baptist Church, a native and lifelong resident of Portsmouth. Mrs. Smallen is survived by her husband, Steve Smallen; mother, Vivian Parker Watson of Portsmouth; two sons, Kevin Vance and his wife, Bonnie, of Chesapeake and Todd Vance and his wife, Corinne, of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, Erin and Joshua Vance; and many other close family members and friends. She was predeceased by a brother, David Nealy Watson. She is sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Lynne W. Smallen to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.
