VIRGINIA BEACH - Shirley May James, 66, of the 1000 block of Fleming Circle, passed away April 29, 2010 in Sentara Nursing Center Windermere. Shirley was born in Portsmouth and was a graduate of Cradock High School; she worked in the Supply Department at NAS Oceana for 28½ years. She was predeceased by her parents, William Ralph and Gladys James of Portsmouth. She was a special person with a loving heart to all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed. Special thanks to the staffs of Sentara Hospice Program and Windermere Nursing Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at Star of the Sea Catholic Church Saturday, May 8, at 10:30 a.m. There will be a private burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society , Sentara Health Care Services Hospice Program or the Virginia Aquarium. H.D.
