PORTSMOUTH - Robert Reid Harrell, 59, of Fiske St., passed away June 10, 2003 in his home.A native of Portsmouth, Mr. Harrell was a 1962 graduate of Cradock High School and a 1968 graduate of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard apprentice school. He retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a welder after 35 years of service.


After retirement, he worked as a starter/marshall at the Links at City Park. He was the soundman at Portsmouth Alliance Church for 20 years and was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church and the Tidewater Gospel Music Association. He is survived by his wife, Patricia B. Harrell and a brother, William J. ``Bill'' Harrell and his wife Penny of Norfolk.
