Raye Workman Sr, 54, died January 3, 1998 at Franklin Square Hospital Center in Baltimore. He had owned and operated Raye Workman Carpet Service for 37 years.
Born September 18, 1943 in Lexington Park, he had lived in Laurel for 20 years. He was co-founder of the Chesapeake County Dance Jubilee.
Mr. Workman is survived by his two sons, Raye Workman, Jr. and Dennis Workman, both of Laurel, who joined the business 15 years ago; daughters Bonnie Workman of Silver Spring, Wendy Roberts of Fredericksburg and Allison and Jennifer Workman of Laurel; grandsons Matthew Roberts, Jr., Jacob Roberts and Collin Roberts and sisters Patricia Mattingly and Pamela Smith.
Visitation was held January 6 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Flock Funeral Home, 7601 Sandy Spring Road, with services at 8 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Joseph Stankavage.
