Gilbert Joseph "Joe" Light, 61, died March 17, 2005, in Greenville, N.C.

Joe was a Portsmouth native born July 7, 1943, to Gilbert Light and the late Doris Knowles Light. He managed Outdoor World Campground on Lake Gaston for many years until his retirement.

Surviving in addition to his father, Gilbert, are his wife Margaret Nelson "Peggy" Light; two daughters, Kelly Light and Terry Light; one son, Jason Light; a brother, Donald Light; and two grandchildren, Jarred and Jayden Light.

The Rev. Paul Neuer conducted memorial services in St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Littleton, NC, near Lake Gaston where Joe had made his home. Memorials may be made to Project United Ministries, 4408 Joe Ellen Road, Battleboro, NC 27809.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Blaylock Funeral Home in Littleton.
