CHESAPEAKE- Barbara Poe Porter, 72, formerly of Colony Manor Road, died August 15, 2015. A native of Portsmouth, she was predeceased by her husband, Fitzhugh Lee Porter; son, Steven Todd Porter; daughter-in-law, Amber Porter; sister, Sandra Poe Fagan; and brother-in-law, Thomas J. Fagan. Mrs. Porter retired as a teacher’s aide in the Chesapeake School System after more than 20 years. She was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa P. Whitley and husband Brad of Chuckatuck; brother, Dennis Poe of Mechanicsburg, PA; sister, Brenda P. Fletcher and husband Larry of Suffolk; three grandchildren, Tyler Porter and wife Lauren, Erin and Anna Whitley; great-grandson, Steven Vincent Porter; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 1 PM in Holy Communion Lutheran Church by the Rev. Aaron Fuller. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel on Tuesday from 6:30-8:00 PM.
