Carl Leslie Overstreet Class of 1960
| PORTSMOUTH -- Carl Leslie Overstreet, 58, of the 1100 block of Baskerville Lane, died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, in a Portsmouth hospital.
A native of Portsmouth, he was the son of Carl H. Overstreet of Chesapeake and the late Roma Zink Overstreet. He retired from P.P.G. Industries and was a member of Fairview Heights Baptist Church. He was past president of Olive Branch Little League; former member of Galileans Quartet; and served on the board of directors and was treasurer of the Virginia Glass Association.
Surviving along with his father are his wife, Pamela Mason Overstreet; his daughter, Margaret Phelps and her husband, Luke, of Portsmouth; two sons, Robert Overstreet and his wife, Tami, of Chesapeake, William Overstreet and his wife, Tracy, of Portsmouth; a sister, Ellen White of Chesapeake; a brother, William Overstreet of Farmville, Va.; and four grandchildren, Britney, Tiffany, Trey and Krista.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Fairview Heights Baptist Church by Dr. Ted Barton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m.
