Portsmouth - Ivor Jones Jr., 38, of 305 Robin Road, a son of Mrs. Margaret V. Resolute Allen and a native of Portsmouth, died Wednesday in a hospital.

He formerly was employed in the library of The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, the Virginia Opera Association, and Norfolk Symphony Association.

Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Jeanne Collins, and a stepsister, Mrs. June Hutchens, both of Portsmouth; two stepbrothers, Alton B. Allen of Portsmouth; and nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Foster Funeral Home by the Rev. James D. Smith. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 8:30.
