We wanted to let you and the Class of 1959 know that Burnley died on June 30, 2009 from complications of Whipple's Disease. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend. Burnley and her husband Bob had two children, Rob and Edith, and two grandchildren. Her mother, Lola Fish Credle lives in Virginia Beach. Burnley and Bob have been living in Asheville, NC for the past 15 years. Burnley earned her Master's Degree in Library Science from University of South Carolina and worked in that field and also helped her husband in his business. For so many years Burnley kept us laughing, all she had to do was say "boo" and she had everyone giggling, her easy disposition and steady temperament made her delightful company. For Doris Grant Krimgold, Carolyn Briggs Czerwinski and Grace Blow Nelson she was a lifelong friend who will never truly be gone as long as we can tell our stories of this precious, extraordinary woman. The "Cooties" will always remember.
