Robert Warren Sweazey, 68, of Bonney Lake, Wash., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at his residence. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Lanes Chapel Memorial Cemetery with nephews, the Rev. Keith Coleman, Rev. Mark Nelson, Kevon Kleibrink, and Cam Kleibrink officiating.

Bob was born in Portsmouth, Va., to the late Warren Isaac and Esther Maria Wightman Sweazey. He graduated from Craddock High School in Portsmouth, Highline Community College in Midway, Wash., Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla., and various military and civilian aviation schools. On July, 15, 1965, he married Nancy Joan Kleibrink. He had lived in Georgia, Germany, Oklahoma, Maryland, and Washington. He was a photographer and a pilot.

He was a member of Evergreen Free Methodist Church in Bonney Lake, Wash. He was also a member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Everygreen Woodworkers Guild, Seattle Chapter and the South Puget Sound Chapter of the American Association of Woodturners.

He was a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army, serving in Viet Nam and Germany. His hobbies included woodturning, woodworking, genealogy, and small farm operations. Family and friends were very important to him and he relished listening to stories and visiting with neighbors, friends, and family members. All operations of work or hobbies were normally stopped when someone came to talk — Bob wanted to listen, said a family member.
