Lawrence “Dubo” Dickerson, CHS-56

Lawrence "Larry" B. Dickerson Jr., 75, of Powhatan, son of the late Lawrence B. and Linnie M. Dickerson, went to be with the Lord, January 20, 2013.

 

He is survived by wife, Naomi (Llewellyn) Dickerson; six children, Angie Bond (Jeff), Amy Funai (Bubba), Ronald Llewellyn (Daphne), Todd Llewellyn, Kimberly Smith (Jeff), Tanya Torrijos (Robbie); brother, Lowell Dickerson; sister, Juanita Mathis; devoted niece, Tammie Hoard; 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one sister, Regina Kellum.

 

Larry was a member of First Baptist Church, Powhatan, a proud member of Union Millwright Local 1402 from 1956 until his retirement in 1999. He had talent with his hands making furniture for his children and church, as well as making lighthouses to sell.

 

The family will receive friends Monday (tonight) from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy. (Rte.60), Powhatan and where services will be held Tuesday 2 p.m. Interment Pine Grove Community Cemetery, Amelia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bon Secours Hospice, 5875 Bremo Rd., Suite 305, Richmond, Va. 23226.
