CHESAPEAKE - Edith Christina Bolton, 69, of the 600 block of Luray Terrace, went to be with the Lord Jan. 22, 2007. A native of Roanoke, she was the daughter of the late James Allen Metzger Sr. and Ruby Mabe Metzger. She was a member of the Craddock High School Class of 1955 and Providence Baptist Church, Chesapeake.
Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Foster J. Bolton; two daughters, Deborah Hanssen and her husband Joel of Norfolk and Judy Agnor and her husband Edward of Virginia Beach; two sons, Paul Murch Jr. and his wife Michelle of Virginia Beach and Gerald Murch of Westland, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Lynnette Bolton of Chesapeake; stepson, Kerry Bolton and his wife Kathy of Heiskell, Tenn.; two sisters, Virginia Barbee of Antioch, Calif., and Thelma Carr of Portsmouth; a brother, Robert Metzger of Chesapeake; 15 grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Marguerite Cofield and two brothers, Thomas Metzger and James A. Metzger Jr.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Providence Baptist Church with Pastor Ron Heath officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Providence Baptist Church Building Fund, 501 Providence Road, Chesapeake, VA 23325.
