Margaret Meads-Calhoun

Chesapeake - Margaret Meads Calhoun, 76, died May 27, 2013. She was the widow of Charles T. "Sonny" Calhoun, a 1955 graduate of Cradock High School and a retired bookkeeper for Paul Hughes.

Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Calhoun of Chesapeake; a son, Vernon T. Calhoun of Suffolk; three sisters, Linda Meads, Faye Meads and Carole Meads, all of Portsmouth; sister-in-law, Margaret Pilgreen of Portsmouth; brother-in-law, J.C. Woody of Portsmouth; two nephews; one niece; one great-nephew; and three cats.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 31, at 1 p.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel by the Rev. Tom Potter. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
