Katherine J. Lamb DARLINGTON, Md. - Katherine Janet (McDaniel) Lamb died July 9, 2008, at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre De Grace, Md. She was born Feb. 16, 1938, in Pulaski, Va., to William Gordon McDaniel and Winnie Katharine (King) McDaniel.

Her early years were spent in Pulaski, Va., but her family later moved to Portsmouth. She graduated from Craddock High School in 1955. She worked for the Virginia State Health Department where she met John T. Lamb, her future husband. They were married April 22, 1962, at the Norfolk Seventh-day Adventist Church, and several years later they moved to Takoma Park, Md. She was employed at Sligo Elementary School, at the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and Walter Reed Army Medical Center in the medical records section.

After having a child, she and her husband moved to Darlington, Md. She then worked for Davis Concrete and Quarry, Caddie Homes and the Job Corps Center in Port Deposit. She then worked for Home Health Education Service selling the Bible story books. Her favorite part of this work was praying with people and encouraging them to study the Bible. She then worked for Bechtel at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station until her retirement. She and husband recently celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. She was a member of the Wilna Seventh-day Adventist church and held several church offices including church treasurer.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, and brothers, Willis "Pete" Gordon McDaniel and William Duane McDaniel and niece, Debbie McDaniel. She is survived by husband, John T. Lamb Jr. of Darlington, Md.; son, John W. Lamb; daughter-in-law, Cindee; grandsons, Robert and Samuel H. Lamb, all of Harrison, Tenn.; niece, Jane Cunningham of Buchanon, W.Va.; and sister-in-law, Martha McDaniel of Portsmouth.

Friends may call at the McComas Funeral Home, P.A., Bel Air, Md., Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home Monday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Tom Leblanc officiating. Interment will be in Darlington Cemetery.
