Oscar Bernard Kraatz
Class of 1955

Suffolk - Oscar Bernhardt Kraatz, 80, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 19, 2016. He was a 1955 graduate of Cradock High School and retired as a Data Processor in the Control Office of NNSY. Bernie was a member of the Coast Guard Reserve. He was a devoted member of Cradock Baptist Church. He served as SS Director, Jr. Deacon, Deacon and Deacon Chairman, Training Union Director and served on many other church committees.

Bernie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Phyllis Respess Kraatz; 2 children, Marcia Kraatz Kittrell, Oscar Brian Kraatz and wife, Melissa; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 by Dr. David Phillips in Cradock Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to CBC 96 Afton Pkwy. Ports., VA 23702. Online Condolences may be made at www.lovingfuneralhome.com
