SUFFOLK - Raenel Gainer ''Peachy'' Forsythe, 65, of the 200 block of Chestnut St., went to be with the Lord Jan. 30, 2003.
A native of Pierce, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Ronald Earl and Ruth Williams Gainer and a 1955 graduate of Cradock High School. She was a member of Oxford United Methodist Church and participated for many years in the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen. For the past 10 years she was a nurse at Family Medicine in Suffolk. She was a former HRT bus driver before she pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse at the Obici School of Nursing in 1987.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna Forsythe and Armand F. Cocco of Suffolk; sons and daughters-in-law, James Lyndal Forsythe and Nancy C. Morris of Suffolk and David Michael and D. Ashley Forsythe of Naples, Italy; grandchildren, James Andrew Forsythe, Lisa Marie Cocco, Mary Anne Cocco, Sarah Elizabeth Forsythe, Allison Nicole Cocco, Kristin Elaine Forsythe, Amanda Cocco and Andrea Jordan; great-grandchildren, James Matthew Forsythe, Sophia L. Cocco, Daniel Jordan and Ariana Jordan; special friends, Patricia Griggs, Lynn Kincaid, Harriet Smith, Susie Forsythe, Joyce Harrell and Shirley Weeks.
A funeral will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Oxford United Methodist Church by the Rev. E. Clifton Whitlock. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Friends may join the family today from 2 to 4 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home, 447 W. Washington St., Suffolk and other times at the residence.
