Donald Keith Allen

SOUTH BOSTON - Mr. Donald Keith Allen died Oct. 4, 2008, at his home. He was born in Mingo County, West Virginia, Feb. 13, 1937, and was 71-years-old. He was the son of the late Watson Allen and the late Anise Boggs Allen. He was married to Mary Ruth Snodgrass Allen.

He was the owner of Allens Drug Store, served on the YMCA state board and a member of the Southfax Sertoma Club. He coached Little League football, was a Mason with the Faulkner Lodge and served on the Virginia State Pharmaceutical Board. He also served as the Booster Club president, Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church and a board member of Sovran Bank.

Mr. Donald Keith Allen is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Snodgrass of South Boston; three daughters, Judith Allen of South Boston, Joyce Roberts and husband David and Janice Le and husband Liem, all of Chesterfield; eight grandchildren, Nathan, Mary and Sam Lantor, Kirsten, Lee and Keith Roberts, and Ben and Rachel Le; and one brother, Watson Allen of West Point, Va.,

A graveside service will be held today at 4 p.m. in the Oak Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Orman Boggs conducting the service. The family received friends Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Powell Funeral Home and other times in the home, 108 Virginia Loop Road, South Boston.
