Hall Burgess Portsmouth -
My honey passed on August 16, 2013 unexpectedly in our home. He was
77 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruby Hall and
Clara W. Burgess. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sandy ,
children Brian Scott Burgess and wife, Laura, Robin Burgess Bowman
and husband Greg, Dana R. Pidgeon, Shelley D. Morrissette and
husband Paul, Debbie M. Stephens and husband David, and Craig A.
Hooper. He is also survived by his sister Jayne Burgess Galup and
brother James C. Burgess and wife Mildred "Butch", as well as eight
wonderful grandchildren.
Huey was a 1954 graduate of Cradock High School where he played
football. After 50 years as a Vepco employee, Huey spent his days of
retirement relaxing with a cold Bud Light on 70th street with his
extended "beach family" and dancing with his wife, as a member of
the Virginia Shaggers Hall of Fame. He will also be deeply missed by
his three 4-legged girls Lizzie, Liza, and Lucky.
A celebration of Huey's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday by
Rev. Randy Blankenship in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel.
The family will receive friends in the funeral home one hour prior
to the service. Burial will be in the family plot in Christiansburg,
