Ella M. Gillespie, 67, of Peachtree City, Ga., died Dec. 31, 2001. Miss Gillespie, a native of the Cradock section of Portsmouth, was the daughter of the late Robert George Gillespie Sr. and Anna Riffle Arnold.
She was predeceased by a brother, Robert G. Gillespie Jr. and maternal grandparents, Walter and Emma Lee Riffle.

Miss Gillespie was a retired employee of Delta Airlines and a member of Line Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include an uncle, Ernest (Buddy) Riffle of Portsmouth; aunts and their husbands, Myrtle R. and Lee J. Ryals of Chesapeake, Gwendolyn R. and Bernard W. Clements of Canton, Ohio, and Mildred Arnold Gardner of Moyock, N.C.; several cousins, other relatives and special friends, Mary Joan Davidson and Albert (Skeete) Freeman.

A graveside service will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Allen Dooley. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, Monday from 10:30 to
11 a.m. There will be a procession from the funeral home to the cemetery.
