CHESAPEAKE - Robert Harry ''Bob'' Hill, born Oct. 13, 1931, of the 2000 block of Lakewood Lane, died at home in peace Monday morning, Sept. 9, 2002. His loving ways will always be remembered by his family, friends and neighbors.
Bob served 18 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from Texaco after 35 years as a lab technician. He earned the 32nd degree Mason. He was an amateur radio operator, serving as a Military Affiliated Radio System (MARS) link during Desert Storm.
Bob was born in Portsmouth, son of Aaron Conrad Hill and Lucia Gillett Hill. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Anne House Hill; son, Michael Hill of Knotts Island, N.C.; three children by marriage, Mark HerrenKohl of Bellingham, Wash., Laura Prettyman of Reston, Va., and Lisa Muccio and her husband, Jim, of Fairfax; three grandchildren, Justin Mark HerrenKohl, Kelsey Anne HerrenKohl and Summer Marie Muccio; and an aunt, Dorothy G. Scott of Portsmouth.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Olive Branch Cemetery by the Rev. Penny Pugh with military honors. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements.
