Frances E. Barrett , 66, departed this life Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999. She was born in Richmond but from infancy spent her entire life in Portsmouth.

Mrs. Barrett was retired after 32 years of service from Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Portsmouth. She was a member of Cottage Place United Methodist Church and Fellowship Chapter No. 140 Order of the Eastern Star.

Mrs. Barrett is survived by her husband, Billy P. Barrett ; a son, Robert K. Barrett , both of Chesapeake; a daughter, Lisa B. Thompson and her husband, Michael P. Thompson; and granddaughter Taylor Ann Thompson of Clearwater, Fla.; a brother, William L. Eure and his wife, Sue, of Williamsburg.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, by the Rev. James Thomas and the Rev. Carlton E. Smith. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
