Suffolk - Terry Houston White passed away on April 1, 2015. Terry
was born on April 8, 1929, in Birmingham, Alabama. His family moved
to the Tidewater area when Terry was seven years, where he lived
throughout his life. He was a proud graduate of William and Mary
College, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and a supervisory
contracts specialist for both NASA and SUPSHIPS in the Newport News
shipyard, where he retired. Terry was full of fun, wisecracks,
kindhearted advice and a sense of integrity that guided him in his
daily life. Terry is survived by his loving wife Shirley Wimberley
White, who brought him comfort without end. He also leaves his
legacy of love behind in his children, Lisa W. Griffin (Greg), Brian
H. White (Tina), Kathryn W. Clark (Chris), Mary Lillian W. Moses
(Bob), ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. His wit and
wisdom will be missed, but live on in those whose lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4,
2015 at Lake Prince Woods, Suffolk, VA. The family will receive
friends at a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers,
memorial donations may be made to the Lions Club International
Foundation.
