Portsmouth - Kenwood Alton Wright, 93, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014.
A native of Norfolk, he was a retired construction supervisor for C
& P Telephone Co. He was a World War II veteran of the US Army; a
member, deacon, elder, and Sunday School teacher at Cradock
Presbyterian Church; a 63-year member and chaplain for 20 years of
the Ambassador Club; and was a member of Western Branch Masonic
Lodge #189. He was an avid bowler, golfer and woodcarver. He
received an award from the American Red Cross for donating 22
gallons of blood.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie H. Wright; a daughter, June
Kuebler and husband Richard of Chesapeake; a son, Robert K. Wright
and wife Kathie of Lexington Park, MD; a sister, Dorothy Bryant of
Chesapeake; a grandson, Jason Wright; and several nieces and
nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, in
Greenlawn Mausoleum Chapel by the Rev. E. Cliffton Whitlock. The
family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the
mausoleum chapel.

Allzwell Assisted Living and Medi Home Health & Hospice Care for
their care of Mr. Wright.
