JOHN J. WULZER JR., A RETIRED TEACHER
John James Wulzer Jr., 66, of the 500 block of W. 37th St., a retired schoolteacher, died Oct. 5, 1992, in a hospital.
Mr. Wulzer was born in Norfolk. He attended Belmont Abbey College, Belmont, N.C., and graduated from St. Benedictine College, Atchison, Kan. He had taught in the Portsmouth public schools for 30 years and had retired from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1988.He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus, Council 367; Torch Club; Elks Lodge 38; Moose Lodge 39; National Education Association; Norfolk Senior Citizens; and was a member and past president of the Ryan Club of Norfolk. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sisters, Olga W. Kingry and Helen W. Fishel, both of Norfolk; and a brother, Ernest C. Wulzer of Virginia Beach.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by the Rev. Julian B. Goodman. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. today in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk Chapel.
