Jack Erwin Veazie, Coach, Cradock High School

Jack Erwin Veazie, 78, of the 6900 block of Respass Beach Road, died Dec. 8, 1992, in his residence.

Mr. Veazie was born in North Adams, Mass. He was retired after 40 years as a schoolteacher and coach at Cradock High School and was supervisor of Transportation Buses for the City of Portsmouth. He was a Baptist and a Navy veteran of World War II.Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice Veazie; a daughter, Mara Sue Bass of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Elizabeth F. Manzella of Buffalo, N.Y., and Helen Roberts of Medford, Ore.; two brothers, William Harney Veazie of Pensacola, Fla., and Robert Veazie of North Adams; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel.
