Reginald Eugene "Reggie" Byrd

Chesapeake - Reginald Eugene "Reggie" Byrd, 79, of the 1800 block of Rosemary Lane, died Aug. 4, 2006, in his residence.

A native of Roanoke, he was retired from Cradock High School where he was an assistant principal and coach. He was a 50-year member of the Ambassadors Club. He was predeceased by his wife, Wanda E. Byrd.

Survivors include four nieces, Leigh Curran and husband Charles of Chesapeake, Linda Bradley and husband Terry of Cummings, Ga., Beth Mayer and husband Norman of Greensboro, N.C., and Darla Wholters of Norfolk.

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. John King. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangement
